"Mahalo nui loa Haumana – Thank you very much students." Also mahalo to the parents and teachers who supported their children of this year's coin contest. Job well done! I enjoyed seeing the many great designs showcasing Hawaiian history and Maunakea science of astronomy. Good job to all who participated in this year's coin contest.

Wonderful designs and beautiful artwork!

For teachers:
please show some images of Maunakea to students, so they know what the mountain looks like. This may help student to spur design ideas. Remind students to have positive messages about culture and science united!

For students:
- Consider discoveries of Maunakea, voyaging and Hawaiian culture in your designs.
- Remember designs must fit / work on a coin so make designs simple and clean (to avoid shading).
- Continue to share your creative designs – we really enjoy them.

Mahalo to all students, teachers, and parents for your support of the coin contest! We hope you will continue participation in the future contest.
