Strong group of finalists, with lots of excellent concept, astronomy, and technique. Some new styles of drawing as well as more familiar treatments. It’s encouraging to see images that show nature, the Hawaiian community, and astronomy in such harmony.

Really good idea to make the coin a telescope’s view – maybe a little more detail would avoid the need for the label.

I admire the beautiful way the space is divided into sky, land, and ocean. Excellent lettering and canoe.

This composition really pulls you in with foreground flowers. And the sky is happily buzzing with comets. Very nice.
